Nationwide PROTEST ! ! Igbo Elders Spit Fire, Send Strong WARNING To Ndigbo Across Nigeria
The Igbo elders under the auspice of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, have sent warning to Igbos across Nigeria ahead of the October 1st nationwide protest.
The elders announced that the Southeast should abstain from participating in the planned nationwide demonstration.
According to the report, they made this known in a statement released on Saturday, September 29, by the group’ s Secretary General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro.
Isiguzoro revealed that Ohanaeze Ndigbo had been facing mounting pressure from the organizers and conveners of the upcoming October 1 protests, which have been dubbed ” Fearless and National Survival Day. ”
According to him, these organizers are working to convince Southeast residents, along with Igbo communities in the Northern and Western regions of Nigeria, to support and take part in the demonstrations.
” These agents are, with fervent desperation, attempting to lure our Southeast residents, alongside Igbo communities residing in the Northern and Western regions, to endorse and participate in this affair, ” Isiguzoro stated.
He further alleged that two former presidential candidates from the 2023 elections are covertly behind the protests, enlisting surrogates posing as civil society organizations to push their agenda.
He continued, ” Their primary objective appears to be to secure the endorsement of the Southeast and the Igbo populace for this October 1st demonstration. ”
While acknowledging the serious economic challenges affecting the country, Isiguzoro emphasized that the Igbo community has been particularly hard- hit.
” It must be stated emphatically that the Igbo community has been disproportionately impacted by these economic hardships, particularly with the notorious flotation of the Naira, rendering it nearly impossible for Igbo importers and traders to conduct business effectively within Nigeria’ s current socioeconomic landscape. ”
Isiguzoro warned that the organizers of the protest are exploiting the economic hardship in the country to draw the Igbo people into a movement that could have dangerous consequences.

” We wish to impart an unequivocal message to all Ndigbo, both at home and in the diaspora: the October 1st Nationwide Protests represent a perilous time bomb set by desperate political elites and opposition leaders intent on utilizing the Igbos as sacrificial lambs. ”
He cautioned that participating in the protests could lead to further instability, given the already heightened tensions due to the economic situation in the country.
” Such machinations are designed to escalate the already heightened tensions that are exacerbated by the ongoing economic downturn, ” he said.
