In View Of The Emerging Security Situation, I Have Decided To Declare A Nationwide Emergency-Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a nationwide security emergency to address Nigeria’s worsening security challenges. Speaking in a statement released on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, and reported by VANGUARD, the President highlighted that forests and remote areas have increasingly become safe havens for terrorists and bandits, a situation the government can no longer tolerate.
In the statement, Tinubu directed the Department of State Services (DSS) to deploy all trained forest guards nationwide to flush out criminal elements and restore safety to affected communities. He emphasized that these operations must commence immediately to protect citizens and secure vulnerable areas.
The President also revealed that the DSS has been authorized to recruit additional personnel to strengthen its operational capacity. He stressed that no part of Nigeria will be allowed to remain under the control of violent groups and warned that the era of impunity for criminals is over.
“Today, in view of the emerging security situation, I have decided to declare a nationwide security emergency and order additional recruitment into the Armed Forces,” Tinubu stated, signaling a firm stance on safeguarding national peace.
