Breaking: Jubilation as Tinubu Makes Fresh Major Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi to be the new substantive Federal Fire Service (FFS) Controller-General. Further details revealed that Adeyemi’s appointment will be effective from August 14, 2025.
Abdulmalik Jibrin, the secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), announced the development in a statement on Wednesday, July 30.
According to Vanguard, the announcement of Adeyemi followed the retirement of Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, the current Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service. Olola’s retirement would be effective from Friday, August 1, after attaining the age of sixty.
According to the statement, Adeyemi would be bringing his wealth of experience to the new role. He had been transferred from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service, where he had grown to the position of Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resources Directorates at the headquarters of the service.
During his career, Adeyemi took part and passed all the mandatory In-Service trainings, command course and other courses within and outside the country.
