However, during a briefing at Army headquarters on Tuesday, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the spokesman for the land forces, refuted Ogunleye’ s claims. He stated that the accusations were thoroughly investigated and found to be false. The conclusion, according to Nwachukwu, was based on a careful review of the facts, testimonies, and evidence presented during the investigation.
In response, Ogunleye has again taken to her TikTok account, expressing her dissatisfaction with the process and pleading for the Nigerian Army to make the investigation results public. Moreover, Ogunleye reached out to the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy, for support. According to Ogunleye, the minister had advised her to submit a voluntary resignation letter, which Kennedy later submitted to the Army on her behalf. Ogunleye expressed shock and confusion over how her resignation was transformed into a medical discharge, citing mental illness as the reason.
She challenged the Minister of Women Affairs to speak the truth regarding the situation. Ogunleye recalled how the Chief of Army Staff informed her on July 1 that her voluntary discharge had been converted to a medical discharge to enable her to receive pension and other entitlements. However, she questioned the validity of the mental illness claim, stating, ” How was I boarded out, and where is this mental illness coming from? ”
