She Inserted Stick Into My Niece’s V@gina For Urinating On Bed- Lady Accuses Stepmother In Court
Mercy Osondu, a prosecution witness, testified in an Ikeja Sëxual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Thursday, alleging that her stepmother, Chinyere Osondu, committed a heinous act of child abuse.
Specifically, Mercy Osondu claimed that Chinyere Osondu violently assaulted her six- year- old niece by inserting a stick into the child’ s private parts.
Chinyere Osondu, the defendant, stands trial at the Ikeja Sëxual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, facing a four- count charge.
However, Chinyere Osondu is currently on trial for allegedly inserting a stick into her six- year- old niece’ s private parts as punishment for urinating on the bed. The witness, testifying under guidance from State Counsel Ms. Inumidun Solarin, revealed this disturbing detail as the case highlighted the severity of child abuse and exploitation. Unfortunately, there are many instances globally where children are subjected to physical and emotional harm.
The witness, a cosmetics expert, recounted that she unearthed the horrific episode when she visited her hometown in August 2021 for her father’ s funeral.
The witness revealed that the minor victim, having a father in Dubai, shared a residence with the defendant at Iyana Ibiye, Morogbo, Lagos.

Narratively, she recalled that, ” my niece lived with my father and stepmother for three years but in 2021 my father died. I went home with my brother to receive those that came for condolence visits. There, I noticed that my niece had a big injury on her head. Flies were perching on it. I asked what happened but she was reluctant to talk” .
” The second day, I went outside the compound and met our neighbour, she told me to take my niece away from my stepmother” .
” I, therefore, persuaded my niece to tell me what happened to her. She told me my stepmother hit her head with a padlock because she urinated on the bed” , she claimed.
In addition, the witness further testified that it was only when she brought her niece to her residence that she discovered the horrific sexual abuse. She revealed that her niece experienced difficulty crouching or squatting to clean her private part.
The witness stated, ” I took my niece to the bathroom to give her a bath but she could not bend down. My niece told me that the defendant inserted a stick in her private part for urinating on the bed” .
” My brother and I reported the case at the station but the DPO locked my brother in the cell and ensured that we dropped the case. But when Ifeanyi, the father to the little girl heard about the case, he contracted an NGO and the case was transferred to Panti” , she disclosed.
When questioned further, the witness confirmed the familial relationship, identifying the child as her younger brother’ s daughter. She persisted in her testimony, stating that the visible head injuries on her niece came to her attention during her father’ s interment.
The witness further stated that her stepmother and her niece’ s father were on good terms, maintaining a close and affectionate connection.
” I do not know if my brothers wanted to take the house from our stepmother because she did not have any male child” , she also answered.
The defendant entered a not- guilty plea to charges violating Sections 173, 261, 245, and 246 of Lagos State’ s 2015 Criminal Law. Justice Rahman Oshodi adjourned the case until November 5 for continued trial, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria.
