Who Is RESPONSIBLE For BBN Nengi’s Pregnancy? Nigerian Governor Breaks SILENCE
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has addressed the viral rumors claiming he fathered a child with Big Brother Naija (BBN) Season 5 (Lockdown) star, Nengi Hampson. The speculation began circulating on social media on Monday, February 10, alleging that the governor had secretly impregnated the reality TV star.
Shortly after the rumors gained traction, Governor Diri’ s office released an official statement refuting the claims. This came after Nengi herself took to social media to confirm her pregnancy while debunking the allegations.
Nengi, a Bayelsa- born reality star, addressed the rumors in a series of tweets, stating categorically: ” I’ m not pregnant for any governor. ”
She emphasized that the speculation was not only false but also disrespectful to individuals she holds in high regard. She further stated:
> ” I won’ t allow a beautiful, personal part of my life to be turned into something ugly. While I continue to mind my business and enjoy my pregnancy in peace, I wish y’ all love and a happy Valentine’ s weekend. ”
According to Premium Times, Governor Diri’ s Director General of New Media dismissed the allegations as false and politically driven. The governor’ s media aide clarified that there is no personal relationship between Governor Diri and Nengi, stressing that the trending story was an attempt to tarnish the governor’ s reputation.
He further alleged that political opponents were responsible for spreading the misinformation, aiming to distract the public from the governor’ s achievements, particularly as he marked his fifth anniversary in office.
Initially planning to run for the Senate, Diri instead found himself in the House of Representatives in 2015 due to Jonathan’ s political maneuvering. This decision ultimately set the stage for his emergence as governor of Bayelsa State.
