Authorities in Katsina State have arrested a medical doctor accused of providing medical treatment to notorious bandits, notably a wanted bandit leader named Usman Modi Modi.
Lawan Ado, a resident of Safana Local Government Area in Katsina State, was taken into custody after intelligence gathered indicated that he was providing medical services to injured bandits.

According to reports, Lawan Ado confessed to providing medical treatment to multiple injured bandits at their hideouts in various parts of Katsina State.
Lawan Ado reportedly revealed that his first patient among the bandits was Usman Modi Modi, who had sustained injuries during a confrontation with the Yan Kyanbara vigilante group.
” He was first taken to a hospital in Taskiya, but two days later, they brought me to treat him further. I was paid N18, 000 for my service” , he added.

Further investigations reportedly uncovered that Lawan Ado had visited various locations to provide medical care to several bandits, including one identified as Karanboguwa, in addition to others.
The arrest of Lawan Ado represents a notable breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to combat banditry, as law enforcement agencies step up their efforts to disrupt and dismantle the networks that support and enable bandit activities in the state.
