Governor makes 8 new appointments
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has approved the appointments of the Chairman and seven Permanent Commissioners of the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC).
The appointed officials are as follows: Engr. Mohammed Jibrin Imam will serve as the Chairman; Barr. M.A. Liman as Permanent Commissioner I, Nasiru Ubandiya as Permanent Commissioner II, and Yahaya Idris Abara as Permanent Commissioner III.
The remaining appointees include Capt. Mohammed Baro as Permanent Commissioner IV, Kabiru Tanko Zama as Permanent Commissioner V, Barr. Amina Guar as Permanent Commissioner VI, and Barr. Ahmed Borgu as Permanent Commissioner VII.
The Governor stated that the appointees were selected based on their track records and are responsible for overseeing the conduct of local government elections.
He urged them to carry out their duties fairly and justly, prioritizing the overall interest of the state above their personal interests.
Additionally, he mentioned that their appointments are subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly.
Earlier, Governor Umaru Bago had sent an Executive Correspondence to the Niger State House of Assembly regarding the composition of the Niger State Independent Electoral Commission.
