On Tuesday, Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, advised certain politicians in Lagos State to avoid contesting the governorship election in 2027, as he predicted they would not succeed.
In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele mentioned that Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Gbenga Ashafa, and Seyi Tinubu are among those who would not be able to become the next governor of Lagos State. According to him, the race for the governorship seat after the current administration ends in 2027 will be highly competitive, but many aspirants will face disappointment.

Although some politicians have not officially declared their interest in running, Ayodele observed that political maneuvering has already begun behind the scenes. From the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he specifically advised Jide Adeniran, also known as ” Jandor, ” to refrain from spending his resources on the race, as his efforts would be in vain. Similarly, he cautioned Gbadebo Rhodes, the Labour Party candidate in the last election, against hoping to win the governorship seat.

Ayodele stated, ” The Lagos governorship race in 2027 will be very challenging, and some prominent individuals will face humiliation. Many of those currently showing interest will not succeed. I urge Tokunbo Abiru, Gbenga Ashafa, Seyi Tinubu, Jide Adeniran, and Gbadebo Rhodes not to waste their time or resources. They won’ t win if they contest, and they shouldn’ t let anyone convince them otherwise. ”

However, the prophet suggested that the current Principal Secretary to President Bola Tinubu, Hakeem Muri- Okunola, stands a better chance of becoming governor unless unforeseen changes occur. He also warned Femi Gbajabiamila to seek divine intervention if he has any political ambitions, as he foresees spiritual battles that could hinder his plans.
” If things remain as they are, I see Hakeem Muri- Okunola leading the race for the governorship. As for Femi Gbajabiamila, if he has plans to contest, he will need God’ s help to overcome spiritual obstacles that will work against him, ” Ayodele explained.
