Asefon elaborated on the rationale behind this initiative, emphasizing President Tinubu’ s commitment to supporting the student community in Nigeria. This is not the first time students have received support from the President. Asefon mentioned that last year, during the holiday season, palliative support was provided to student leaders, though the distribution faced delays, with packages arriving late in December. In light of this, the decision was made to invite the SUG leaders to Abuja this year for a more personal distribution of the rice. Asefon explained that two SUG Presidents from each zone were selected to represent their peers and oversee the distribution process.
Among those present was Fahad Abdullahi, the President of the Student Union Government at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi. Abdullahi expressed gratitude for the President’ s initiative and shared his optimism for future support measures.
