In a controversial development, Nigerian entertainer and activist Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, has made startling allegations against General Yakubu Gowon, a former Nigerian military head of state. These claims, centred on the events of the Nigeria- Biafra civil war (1967– 1970), have sparked intense discussions online and in political circles.
Charly Boy’ s statements were shared in a post on the social media platform X, as cited by the LATEST_NEWS blog. In his post, Charly Boy attributed his allegations to a prophecy supposedly made by the late Biafran warlord, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. The post contained a striking narrative, allegedly portraying Gowon’ s regrets over his role in the civil war.
According to Charly Boy’ s post, Gowon purportedly confessed on his deathbed, stating: ” Just In: Igbos should forgive me. I would like to confess before I die. Death has refused to come for me; my long life is no longer a gift but an agony caused by my wickedness towards Biafran children, ” Gowon said on his deathbed.
