He believed that Christians must engage in politics in order to define their own destinies and have a role in how they are governed.
The cleric made the statement during a press briefing to announce the ministry’ s annual retreat, titled ‘ Power for Present Possession’ and the ‘ Global Crusade with Kumuyi, ‘ which will begin today at the campsite in Ogun State.
According to him, Christians have no right to complain about how the country is run if they refuse to take on nation- building obligations.

He said, ” So, if the Christians don’ t take part in politics, first off, it means that this side alone without any Christian, will determine the direction we go and will determine what the country becomes.
” And the Christians have no right to complain if they are not available to make things better, ” he replied.
He urged political officials at all levels to heed the plights of citizens, stating that they were entrusted with the responsibility of delivering the dividends of democracy.
Another person wrote; ” I will be glad to see good governance starting from our Churches. A dose of good politics, which is good governance, was practiced by Jesus in feeding the congregation and the disciples giving grants to them, from offerings brought at their feet” .
