A trainee herbalist in Ogun State, Ifagbenga Taiwo, has opened up on the reason he killed his 41- day- old son.
The Ogun State Police Command detained Taiwo last Monday for reportedly murdering a newborn baby in Adatan, Abeokuta.
Raimat Wasilat, the infant’ s mother, laid the baby on the bed while washing clothes outside their home before returning to find the baby’ s neck sliced, prompting her to raise an alarm to alert the neighbours.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, revealed that the wife accused the husband of being involved in his son’ s death, prompting the police to arrest him.
Taiwo, a trainee herbalist, confessed to the crime in an interaction video cited by the media, blaming his heinous deed on the effect of a spell.
He explained, ” I didn’ t go home on Sunday because of job commitments. I returned home on Monday, took a bath, gave my wife a feeding allowance, and then left the house.
” When I arrived at work, I remembered I had left the charms I used for self- protection at home. So I went home and picked them up. After picking them up, I went back to work.
” About an hour after returning to work, I felt a breeze blow at me, which made me anxious. Something seemed to be circulating in my body, and I felt compelled to commit a crime.
” When I got home, I did not meet my wife at the spot where she was washing clothes. I went inside, and I continued feeling that I should commit a crime.
” When I realized my son had been killed, I was taken aback. I had to flee through our house’ s back door” .
Meanwhile, the culprit has begged with the Government to show him mercy.
