SHOCKER! Being A Native Doctor Is A Divine Calling– Actor Yul Edochie Reveals
Nollywood actor and self- proclaimed pastor Yul Edochie has sparked widespread conversation on social media with his statements about Native doctors, also referred to as Dibias. In a recent post on his Instagram page, the actor emphasized that being a Native doctor is not a sign of evil but rather a divine calling from God to serve humanity.
Edochie explained that Native doctors are chosen by God to help people, describing their role as one of combating evil and bringing assistance to those in need. He suggested that societal conditioning, particularly by colonial influences, has caused many people, including pastors, to resist this calling due to misconceptions about its nature.
” Being a Native doctor is a divine call from God Almighty. It means you have been chosen to help humanity, ” he wrote.
Edochie further highlighted the influence of Western ideologies in shaping negative perceptions of Native doctors. He argued that such views were introduced by colonial powers, who sought to undermine indigenous practices by labeling them as evil. This narrative, he claimed, has persisted over time, often reinforced by depictions in the media.
The actor also singled out Nollywood as a significant contributor to the stigma surrounding Native doctors. He noted that the film industry frequently portrays Native doctors as villains or practitioners of dark arts, perpetuating harmful stereotypes.
” Nollywood has also contributed to making Native doctors look evil, ” Edochie stated.
Addressing pastors in particular, Edochie suggested that some clergy members might actually be called to practice as Native doctors but are reluctant to embrace this path due to societal pressures. He urged such individuals to reflect on their true calling, warning that ignoring it could lead to a lack of fulfillment in life.
” A true Native doctor fights evil, unless he decides to be evil— just like a pastor can decide to be evil, ” he explained. ” Go and answer your call. You may never have fulfillment in your life if you don’ t answer your call. ”
Edochie’ s statements have since generated significant reactions online, with many people engaging in debates about the cultural and spiritual roles of Native doctors in modern society.
The actor, known for his outspoken views on various societal issues, has once again brought attention to a topic that challenges conventional narratives, encouraging reflection on the interplay between tradition, religion, and modernity.
