APC suspends chairman over alleged rape of minor
The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Jigawa State, has suspended the party’s chairman in Roni Local Government.
This was contained in a statement signed by the State chairman, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel and made available to DAILY POST.
DAILY POST reported that a 56-year-old man, Saleh Idris was arrested for allegedly raping his housegirl.
According to the statement, “Following the allegation of rape and impregnation of minor and the outcome of preliminary investigation of the state chapter, the party has come up with the following resolutions:
“That your act contravened section 21.2 (viii) and (x) of the APC 2022 Constitution as amended and that there is a need for further investigations.”
The statement said given these, the State APC has suspended the party chairman pending the outcome of the investigation.
The party ordered him to hand over its affairs to the local government’s vice chairman.
