SHOCKER Arrested Enugu Kidnappers Are Not IGBOS, See Where They Come From And How Much They Collected
Ikenna Diugwu, one of the victims, told SaharaReporters on Saturday that his family had given his captors a N2 million ransom to get them to release him.
The Enugu State Police Command has come under fire from some of the wedding guests who were abducted at Nkpunato Nkpologu, Uzo- Uwani Council Area, Enugu State, for asserting that they were not taken hostage by gunmen.
Ikenna Diugwu, one of the victims, told SaharaReporters on Saturday that his family had given his captors a N2 million ransom to get them to release him.
Diugwu described the sad event, saying that on December 27, 2023, they were being driven to a traditional wedding celebration in the Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State when their bus was assaulted and they were taken hostage.
They were held captive for three days in the bush before the kidnappers freed them, he said, lamenting the lack of action taken by the police to save them, ” instead the Commissioner shamefully came out to deny their abduction, ” creating the false impression that Enugu State is the safest place in Nigeria when, in reality, the state was under attack from kidnapping.
He described their three days of starvation and their wrists being tied behind their backs while they were being carried from one place in the jungle to another by the kidnappers.
