On Wednesday, 17th January 2024, it was reported that one of the victims of the fatal explosion that happened on Tuesday, 16th January 2024 in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state, has been identified as a returnee from the United Kingdom (UK).

Quite unfortunately, several residents counted their losses as windows shattered, doors cracked, buildings crumbled, and hospitals overflowed with injured patients as well as dead bodies of deceased victims.
Two individuals were sent to their graves and 77 others suffered lethal and varied degrees of injuries/bodily damages from the explosion, as indicated in a press report from the governor of Oyo State.
