In what could be described as a heartbreaking development for the Presidency, many residents of Nahuta village of Batsari Local Government Area, Katsina State, have reportedly abandoned their homes to run to a safe place over incessant Bandit’ attacks.
This comes amidst the report that bandits have taken over many villages in Zamfara State and were bold enough to impose levies on the residents. And even punished anyone who failed to follow their order and instructions.
Similarly, Nahuta village in Katsina State has become the target of the bandits and it was gathered that many residents who couldn’ t endure the situation have started moving out of the village. It was reported that people were seen moving their children and family members out of the village after a fresh attack on Monday, January 15.
Meanwhile, while the residents of Nahuta were able to run for their lives, the people in the Magizawa community of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State were unlucky as bandits reportedly abducted 36 women in the community on Sunday night.
It was reported that at least three people including a vigilante leader were killed while two others sustained serious injuries during the attack.
” They abducted about 50 people and 36 were women. We tried to fight them but they took us unaware and got mixed up with members of the community. In the process, they killed one of our bravest members and two others, they also injured two others. They broke into houses that were locked and abducted locals, ” a local security man narrated.
