In a peaceful demonstration in Abuja, members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), commonly known as Shi’ ites, gathered to protest against the prolonged bombing of Gaza by the Israeli military.
The protest, titled ” 100 Days of Non- stop Genocide in Gaza, US a Major Party, ” aimed to condemn the continuous bombardment of civilians, including women and children, in Gaza, which has resulted in widespread destruction and loss of lives.
The demonstrators expressed their outrage at the Israeli military’ s actions, citing the destruction of homes, places of worship, schools, hospitals, and markets in Gaza.
The ongoing conflict has led to the killing of numerous Palestinians and left a significant portion of the population at risk of starvation, according to reports from the United Nations.
The World Health Organization has also highlighted the increased spread of diseases due to the attacks and the resulting siege.
The protesters drew attention to the alleged support from the United States and the United Kingdom governments, claiming that their backing has enabled Israel to continue its military actions in Gaza.
They accused the US and UK of obstructing a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in the region.
