Man Recklessly Infects Young Girl With STD After Forcefully Having Carnal Knowledge Of Her; See Court’s JUDGEMENT
A middle- aged man, 55 years of age who goes by the name, Ya’ u Ibrahim has bagged himself life imprisonment at a correctional facility after his arraignment before Minna Senior Magistrate Court Judge Angwan Daji, Hajiya Hafsat Abdullahi Bawa Wuse for having forceful and unlawful carnal knowledge of a young girl in the state.
However, Ya’ u Ibrahim, the defendant, was previously charged and presented in court on 15th August 2023 of the previous for offense which goes against Section 26(2) of the Child Rights Law 2021 of defiling and taking advantage of the victim, who appears to be just 6 years of age. Sadly, the man is said to have infected the youngster with a sêxually transmitted disease (STD), which is currently having a negative effect on the health of the young girl.
Reacting to the unfortunate occurrence, Inspector Aliyu Yakubu Kuta, the police prosecuting attorney, called two witnesses throughout the trial of the defendant in court and the duo provided in- depth accounts of the defendant’ s sëxual molestation of the victim who is currently being taken care of an undisclosed medical facility.
Also, the prosecutor presented the court with two exhibits; the convict’ s confessional statement and a medical report from the Rayuwa Sëxual Reference Center Police Clinic in Minna, the capital city of the state after which the 55- year- old offender appealed to the court for mercy while admitting his guilt.
