Redeemed Church, Event Centres, Hotels Shut Down In Lagos – SEE Why
Some churches, hotels and other establishments have been shut down in Lagos over noise pollution.
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) closed several establishments, including churches, hotels, bars, and other businesses, for failing to comply with the state’s environmental laws.
The agency operated in Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, in Lagos and shut down Daily Bakery, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, Ideal Standard, Franjane Royal Suites, Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Centre & SPA, FS Service Centre, Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts to address noise pollution and other environmental violations across Lagos.
LASEPA shared this information on its verified X handle on Thursday, Nov. 28.
According to LASEPA, the establishments were shut down for failing to comply with environmental standards, despite prior notices from the agency.
The General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, said noise pollution and other infractions significantly impact public health and quality of life, so he urged businesses and individuals to comply with environmental standards.
The statement reads, “In a decisive move to combat noise pollution and other environmental violations, the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) sealed several establishments across the state.
