SHOCKER! Equatorial Guinea Supreme Court Acquits Balthazar Engonga Of All Charges
The Supreme Court of Equatorial Guinea has acquitted Baltasar Ebang Engonga, also known as ” Bello, ” of all charges due to insufficient evidence. Engonga, a prominent figure and great- nephew of President Teodoro Obiang, was at the center of a high- profile case involving allegations of financial misconduct and the release of compromising videos that sparked global attention.
The court confirmed that the explicit videos, numbering around 400, involved consenting adults. Medical tests also demonstrated that Engonga did not transmit any sexually transmitted infections to those involved, further establishing his innocence.
In a surprising twist, the case led to revelations among married couples implicated in the scandal. Several men publicly thanked Engonga, claiming the leaked footage exposed previously hidden aspects of their relationships. For some, this resulted in divorces, adding a dramatic layer to an already complex case.
Engonga, who previously served as head of the National Financial Investigation Agency, was arrested on October 25, 2024, over allegations of embezzling state funds and channeling them into offshore accounts. Although he has not addressed these financial accusations, his arrest led to his detention in Malabo’ s Black Beach prison, infamous for allegations of mistreatment of political detainees.
