UNBELIEVABLE! See The Real Reason Why Gov. Sanwo- Olu SUSPENDED His Media Aide
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo- Olu, has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, over a controversial tweet on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account. The announcement was made in a statement issued by the governor’ s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, on Tuesday.
The suspension stemmed from Ajetunmobi’ s alleged ” misrepresentation of facts” regarding a past incident involving the 2020 #EndSARS protests. According to reports, the suspended aide had posted a tweet claiming that arsonists who burnt down the Television Continental (TVC) station during the protests had been ” hunted down and executed. ” This bold claim attracted widespread attention and backlash, prompting the state government to act swiftly.
In his controversial post, Ajetunmobi alleged that one of the supposed arsonists, a young boy trading in cooking gas in the Ketu area, was found with an AK- 47 rifle. He stated, ” The full story of people who burnt down TVC in 2020 will be told one day… One of them, a young boy trading in cooking gas around Ketu, was found with an AK- 47 at the site. ”
The situation escalated when X users accused him of endorsing extra- judicial killings. Responding to the criticism, Ajetunmobi denied the claims, saying, ” Lol… What is extra- judicial killing here? Some of the people were chased by soldiers and an exchange of fire occurred. Others were overpowered and killed in the process. “
