Defend Yourself Against Murderers; This Was The Powerful Message Bishop Adeoye Dropped For Nigerians On Plateau Attack
In a stern rebuke, Bishop Seun Adeoye, the Lead Bishop of the Worldwide Anglican Church (WAC) in Nigeria, has denounced the Christmas Day killings in Plateau State, expressing dismay at the horrifying videos circulating from the attack scenes. In his New Year Message released in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, titled ” Never fold your arms again, ” Adeoye criticized the lack of security response, describing it as pathetic that people were slaughtered in their own homeland.
Expressing his condolences to the families of the victims, Bishop Adeoye urged residents to take a stand and defend themselves against the rising menace. He emphasized the need for collective action, stating, ” Never fold your arms and allow agents of Satan destroy you, your wives, and your children. Please, rise up and fight back against these murderers. ”
Drawing attention to the recurring violence in Plateau, Benue, and Kaduna states, the cleric questioned the government’ s failure to address these longstanding issues. He challenged the authorities, stating, ” If these dastardly acts cannot be nipped in the bud by security agencies and if the government has failed its duty to protect the victims, what then did you expect the people to do? ”
Bishop Adeoye advocated for the right to self- defense, asserting that individuals have the right to protect themselves and their families. He questioned the efficacy of the government’ s duty to protect lives and property, particularly in the wake of the recent tragic events.
