Trouble Looms? See The Powerful Message Governor Fubara Dropped For Wike’s Patroits, See Details
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared himself the victor in the ongoing political turmoil within the state. Facing a crisis involving his predecessor, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, the governor addressed the factionalization of the state House of Assembly. Members aligned with Wike initiated impeachment proceedings, leading to a split, with Fubara loyalists defecting to the All Progressives Congress and declaring their seats vacant.
President Bola Tinubu intervened, resulting in the withdrawal of the impeachment notice and other resolutions. Yet, at a crossover church service in Opobo Town, Fubara asserted his triumph, asserting that he remains the governor and continues to sign with the symbolic red biro. In a statement by his media aide, Boniface Onyedi, the governor proclaimed, ” We are the winners because we are still signing with the red biro. As long as we are signing with the red biro, development will continue in Rivers State. ”
Fubara emphasized that the attempts to destabilize his administration and impede the state’ s progress had failed. Undeterred, he pledged to stay committed to Rivers State’ s development agenda, grounded in a solid foundation in God. He confidently stated that his administration’ s path was predetermined for 2024, vowing to persevere in working for the state’ s welfare.
