Operatives of the police force in Kano have arrested a 24- year- old woman, Hafsat Surajo, after she allegedly stabbing a man, Nafiu Hafiz, to death. The incident happened in Unguwa Uku, in Tauranin Local Government Area of the state.
The PRO of the police command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the matter in a statement on Friday, the 22nd of December, 2023. He said that Hafsat admitted to stabbing the deceased on several parts of his body, using a knife, while he tried to stop her from killing herself.
The PPRO also shared that the husband of the victim, Dayyabu Abdullahi, and their security guard, Mallam Adam, were taken into custody for packaging and hiding the dead body of the victim.
” On the 21st of December at about 7: 00am, a report was received from one Hafizu Salisu, from Bauchi Metropolis of the state, that he got a phone call from one Dayyabu Abdullahi of Unguwa Uku Quarters, Kano; saying that his brother, Nafi’ u Hafiz, 38 years of age, had died and that they should come and take the dead body for burial. ”
” When they got to the house at Unguwa Uku Quarters in Kano, they found several wounds on different parts of the lifeless body, suspected to be knife stabs.
” The Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, FIPMA, psc instructed the Divisional Police Officer, Zaria Road Division, SP Abubakar Chika Zaki, to take a team of detectives to the area and to conduct a preliminary investigation.
