A middle- aged aged married man, 52 years of age in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, close to the capital city of Delhi, gruesomely chopped off the head of his wife after stabbing her 15 times with a sword at their residence in a local settlement known as Faljagadh.
During the wee hours of Wednesday, 20th December 2023, the enraged husband who goes by the name, Dharamveer is said to have ended the life of his wife, Sundari in a very brutal way for delaying to serve him his cup of tea as always requested in the morning.
Narratively, newsmen discovered that the man asked for his cup of tea right away moments after he woke up from sleep a few minutes after his 50- year- old wife who was already in the kitchen preparing it because she knew her husband doesn’ t always want to miss the routine on a daily basis.
As recalled by the Police Superintendent Vivek Yadav, Dharamveer grew enraged when the woman asked him to give her ten minutes to complete making the tea. He then hurried to acquire a weapon, which he allegedly used to stab his wife in the kitchen. Sadly, the woman, Sundari got up as early as six o’ clock in the morning to make the tea just like she always do every day.
In response to the tragic occurrence, Soldier, their son, is said to have raced to the scene upon hearing his mother’ s cries and saw her bleeding profusely. But, the children ran to their room after Dharamveer reportedly attacked them while they were trying to assist her.
” I and my two sisters tried to save our mother, but my father threatened to kill us. That is why we left the place. My father Dharamvir while fleeing towards the sugarcane crop fields was brandishing the sword so that nobody could catch hold of him” , Soldier recounted.
Meanwhile, the uncontrollable cries of the children alerted the townspeople, who hurried to their house and saw Sundari dead in a pool of blood after which they contacted the police, Dharamveer was then apprehended and taken into custody and Sundari’ s body was taken away for an autopsy.
The soldier informed the police that his father usually yelled at his mother numerous times when he got upset over tea, but he had never physically harmed her.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Gyan Prakash Rai condemned the actions of the suspect saying that, ” Dharamveer and Sundari had a fight over making tea. He then took out a sharp weapon and attacked her on the neck from behind, which led to her immediate death” .
