FIRE For FIRE 🔥 Wike Receives Bad News As PDP Surprises Him; SEE What They Planned To Do That SHOCKED Everyone
The internal strife within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has escalated, with the Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, declaring the party’ s intention to sanction the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
This stern announcement came during a press conference held in Abuja on Tuesday, highlighting the party’ s dissatisfaction with Wike’ s alleged actions against its interests.
The rift in Rivers State, particularly between Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has had severe repercussions, leading to the defection of 25 PDP lawmakers to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Additionally, seven commissioners have resigned, underscoring the deep- rooted tensions over political control and financial matters in the state.
In an effort to quell the crisis, President Bola Tinubu facilitated a peace accord between Wike and Fubara after a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. However, the aftermath of the accord has not resulted in the desired unity within the party.
The 2023 presidential election further exacerbated the internal divisions, with Wike and the G- 5 governors openly working against the PDP’ s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
This intra- party opposition saw Wike supporting President Bola Tinubu, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State siding with Labour Party’ s Peter Obi, and Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State aligning with Tinubu.
