The response from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’ s camp regarding President Bola Tinubu’ s intervention in the political crisis in Rivers State has been made known.
The crisis was resolved during a meeting held at the State House in Abuja, attended by Tinubu, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, former governor Peter Odili, and other stakeholders.
The meeting lasted for three hours and resulted in the formulation of eight resolutions aimed at resolving the political tension in the South- South state.
The resolutions were signed by Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Oma Ordu, Wike, the National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, the factional Speaker of the Rivers State Assembly Martin Amaewhule, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State Aaron Chukwuemeka, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Chairman Tony Okocha.
However, the spokesperson for the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, Daniel Bwala, expressed disagreement with the president’ s directives, considering them to be illegal, unconstitutional, and null and void.
Bwala took to his verified social media handle to convey this message. He urged the people of Rivers State to reject the presidential directives, emphasizing their illegality.
