In a shocking incident that unfolded in Imo State, two intoxicated women, believed to be commercial sex workers, engaged in a disgraceful public brawl, creating a show of shame in the streets of Amaraku, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area.
According to eyewitnesses, the two women had consumed excessive alcohol at a bar near Orie Amaraku market before deciding to negotiate their way home. The situation took a turn for the worse when they stopped at another joint along Ugiri Road Amaraku to enjoy cigarettes, leading to a quarrel that escalated into a physical fight.
Although the exact cause of the altercation remained unclear, witnesses reported that the dispute turned violent with the women exchanging blows. One of them, seemingly intoxicated, broke a bottle and used it on her counterpart. In retaliation, the other woman grabbed another bottle, held her colleague on the ground, and stabbed her in the face.
The chaotic scene attracted onlookers, and able- bodied men intervened to separate the two women, who had almost stripped naked during the confrontation. One of them sustained a serious injury to her face, affecting one of her eyes.
Upon arriving at the scene, amidst pandemonium, one woman stood with a lesser degree of injury, while the other, seriously wounded and bleeding profusely, appeared weak and helpless by the roadside. The less injured woman expressed regret, claiming that she retaliated with a single stab, while her colleague, under the influence of alcohol, repeatedly used a broken bottle on her own face.
