The suspects were attempting to conceal themselves in a tricycle. According to Major Emmanuel Onoja, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the arrest and recovery of weapons highlight the military’ s efforts to curb criminality and ensure public safety.
The Nigerian Army’ s 63 Brigade conducted a successful operation at Nwawolo Market in Asaba, Delta State, and confiscated a stash of weapons and munitions from the suspects.
Notwithstanding, other items recovered from the suspects include a crowbar, a battle axe, small Android phones, and a wallet. Inside the wallet, authorities found 19 US dollars and 36, 650 Nigerian naira. Following the discovery of these items, the suspects were taken into custody for further questioning and interrogation.
