The confirmation took place on Tuesday after the Senate considered the report presented by Senator Victor Umeh, Chairman of the Committee on National Identity and National Population.

According to him, the screening was conducted on October 14, 2025, and no petitions or complaints were received against the nominees.

Each nominee presented their credentials, answered questions, and demonstrated a clear understanding of the duties of the commission.

The committee also verified all required documents, including their curriculum vitae, clearance from the Code of Conduct Bureau, and security reports from the police and Department of State Services.

Following the committee’s recommendation, Senate President Godswill Akpabio led the lawmakers in a voice vote, which ended in favour of the nominees.

President Bola Tinubu had earlier sent a letter dated July 31, 2025, requesting the Senate to screen and confirm the nominees.

The letter was read by Akpabio on October 7, paving the way for the confirmation process concluded on Tuesday.
