Some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, arrested yesterday have sent a message to President Bola Tinubu.
In a video showing the moment they were interrogated after arrest, one of the IPOB members who spoke in Igbo language said: ” I believe Tinubu will not act like Buhari. We appeal to him to release our leader Nnamdi Kanu for peace to reign in the South- East. ”
The now- viral has triggered mixed reactions online, with many commenters faulting the activities of IPOB in the South- East.
Someone said: ” It can’ t be proven that the terrorism will stop when Nnamdi Kanu is released. Hope Tinubu acts wisely. ”
Meanwhile, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, the younger brother of the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, said yesterday that releasing the IPOB Leader in compliance with several court judgments, would be the most cherished birthday package from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Kanu’ s brother who stated this in a chat with Vanguard said the continued incarceration of the IPOB Leader had been a trauma to the family since after the death of their parents three years ago.
Prince Emmanuel whose birthday was December 11, said that ” nothing makes meaning” to him anymore when he remembered that his brother had been subjected to pains since 2021 when he was renditioned to Nigeria.
