PDP Can’t Delay Decision on Wike Any Longer, Says Bode George

Chief Olabode George has said the PDP can no longer postpone action on the internal crisis involving FCT Minister Nyesom Wike
George noted that the party risks appearing weak if it fails to take a stand, stressing that patience with Wike and his camp has run out
The PDP Southern bloc has also reached a zoning decision which will be presented at the NEC meeting scheduled for Monday
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has declared that the party can no longer delay action on the lingering controversies surrounding Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
George said the PDP had shown enough patience with Wike and his allies, but the time had come for a firm decision.

According to him, the party risks being viewed as weak if it continues to avoid addressing the crisis directly.
“The party will address the Wike issue this time around. At the previous NEC meeting, we considered taking a decision, but it was agreed that more time should be given to engage with the members of the House who had decamped. That time has now expired, and we must take a decisive step; otherwise, the party risks being seen as indecisive,” he said.
George spoke shortly after attending the Southern Zoning Consultative Meeting held in Lagos, where key party figures gathered to deliberate on pressing internal matters.
