Gov Zulum Under Fire For Forgiving 160,000 Boko Haram Terrorists After Burkina Faso Set Ablaze 400 Terrorists In Broad Daylight
Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State is under fire from Nigerians who disagree with his decision to forgive over 160,000 Boko Haram terrorists in his state.
Reports say Zulum announced that about 160,000 Boko Haram insurgents and their families surrendered sequel to the non-kinetic effort of the Nigerian Military.
The governor said: “We have insurgency in other part of the country but the security in the northeast is very important for the stability of the country because of the porous borders with Niger, Cameroon and Chad Republics.
“We have to ensure that we don’t have safe haven for ISWAP in the northeast as the Sahel is now a major problem.
“The shores of Lake Chad is very important for arable farming, it has about 25,000 square metres, and because of the receding of Water in Lake Chad, there is the need to put hands together to allow people to have access and freedom to these arable farmlands to key into the federal government’s initiative on Wheat Production, livestock farming and income generation.”
Reacting to this, some concerned Nigerians made reference to Burkina Faso where terrorists are eliminated in broad daylight by the country’s military government.
According to Zagazola, over 400 terrorists have been barbecued so far in Burkina Faso.
A concerned Nigerian tackled Governor Zulum saying: “We shouldn’t be allowing these guys integrate into the society. They truly never change.”
Meanwhile, in Nigeria this year, the Federal Government established two Disarmament, Deradicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centres for repent members of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups.
