He’s in an unfair situation – Shearer Analyzes Rasmus Struggles at Manchester United
Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer believes Manchester United attacker Rasmus Hojlund is in an ‘unfair situation’ at Old Trafford.
Hojlund has scored five goals in four UEFA Champions League games this season.
But he is yet to find the net in nine Premier League appearances for the Red Devils.
The Denmark international missed two great chances in Man United’s 1-0 victory over Luton Town last weekend before he was forced off in the closing stages with a hamstring injury.
However, Shearer believes another striker needed to be added to Erik ten Hag’s squad in order to ease the burden on Hojlund.
“Well, he [Hojlund] has not set Old Trafford alight yet, has he?” Shearer told Premier League Productions.
“In terms of his performances, he’s certainly been better in Europe than he has been in the Premier League.
“I like his movement, yes, he is very raw. It is probably an unfair situation to be putting him in.
“Ideally, you’d like to drip-feed him in, put him in for one or two, bring him out, bring him on for half an hour, leave him out for the next game.”
