WICKED WORLD! Brutally Murdered Popular Musician Buried With Two Machetes To Face His Killers
A tragic and emotionally charged funeral was held for Ghanaian musician Wilberforce Appiah, popularly known as ‘ Wyllbee, ‘ on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Kwadaso, Ashanti Region. In a striking departure from traditional funerals, Wyllbee’ s family buried him with two large machetes, reportedly to empower his spirit to avenge his death.
The unusual ritual was driven by the family’ s belief that Wyllbee should not rest in peace, as his death was not natural. Instead, the family made clear their wish for him to seek revenge on those responsible for his demise. Before the casket was sealed, two brand- new machetes were placed inside by his relatives, accompanied by the performance of specific rituals.
The funeral, which drew a large crowd of mourners, saw emotional scenes, particularly from Wyllbee’ s mother, who was inconsolable throughout the event. Despite the customary advice for families to let their loved ones rest in peace, the family’ s call for vengeance resonated with many of the attendees, who shared in their grief and desire for justice.
Wyllbee’ s death, which occurred on July 5, 2024, was surrounded by controversy and shock. He had been staying overnight at the residence of a woman named Nana Yaa Nyarko in Abuakwa- Tanoso, Ashanti Region, a property reportedly owned by her husband’ s family. The incident unfolded when Wyllbee was spotted urinating in the compound, raising suspicions among the neighbors, who mistakenly identified him as a thief.
When confronted, Wyllbee reportedly explained that he was visiting Nana Yaa, but she allegedly denied knowing him in an attempt to protect her marriage from her in- laws. This denial further fueled suspicion, leading to Wyllbee being brutally lynched by the enraged neighbors. His phone was also destroyed during the attack.
In the aftermath of Wyllbee’ s death, his family has been vocal about their anger and frustration over the slow pace of justice. His mother, in particular, expressed her dissatisfaction with seeing her son’ s alleged killers in court while struggling to find closure. Despite their faith in God, the family remains hopeful that the court system will eventually provide justice.
Nana Yaa, the prime suspect in the case, has faced considerable public outrage during her court appearances. She has been booed, chased, and even attacked by angry mobs. After several failed attempts, Nana Yaa and a second accused were finally granted bail on August 15, 2024, set at GH¢100, 000 each, with sureties.
The case has since been forwarded to the Attorney General’ s office for further investigation, with the next court hearing scheduled for September 30, 2024. Depending on the outcome, the case may be transferred to a higher court as the legal process continues.
This unique funeral and the circumstances of Wyllbee’ s death have captivated the attention of many, leaving the family and the public seeking justice for the young musician’ s tragic end.
