EPL: You’ve brought nothing – Jordan blasts Man United star
Former Crystal Palace owner, Simon Jordan has slammed Manchester United winger Antony over his performances for the Red Devils.
Jordan said the Brazilian international has done nothing for Man United on the pitch of play since he joined the Premier League club, adding that his display for the club has been poor.
Recall that Man United signed Antony from Ajax for £82million in 2022.
Their manager Erik ten Hag gave the approval for the player’s signature, having worked with him at Ajax.
“Of course, there is a pressure and of course, there is an expectation because if you spend big money on players, naturally you expect big outcomes,” Jordan told talkSPORT.
“If £25m footballer doesn’t succeed there is less noise around it. In this instance, with Antony, at £25m he would have been a bad buy because he has been poor and everything about him has been poor.
“He’s brought nothing. What has he brought to Manchester United besides headlines? Certainly nothing on the football field.”
He added, “So at £25m you would be saying it’s a waste of money, at £85m you’ve got to look at the manager and ask why he bought him, especially as he knew him.”
