HORROR In Community As Enraged People Show No Mercy, Torture 3 To Death Over This Ridiculous Allegation
The Adamawa State Police Command has verified the murder of three individuals accused of witchcraft. The victims, who were falsely alleged to possess supernatural powers, were brutally slain by a mob in a heinous act of violence. The police have condemned the killing and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
In response to the above- mentioned occurrence, the Command, in a press release issued by police spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, revealed that the individuals who filed the complaint identified the victims of the vicious attack as Lazarus Bashiru, Galion Isa, and Ajasko Yakubu.
” On the 14/9/2024, one Dogara Sabon Reza and Jeri Dogara reported at Tigno Divisional Police Headquarters that one Salestina Bala and her collaborators conspired, tortured and killed three people who they accused of witchcraft, ” the Command claimed.
Although, it was learnt that the deceased persons and the accused culprits are inhabitants of Lamurde Local Government Area LGA.
Decrying the senseless extrajudicial killings, the Command announced that it has deployed law enforcement officers to capture and bring the perpetrators to justice.
” Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the suspect as this cruel and violent manner of hers will lead to a breakdown of law and order and is totally unacceptable” , the police stated.
In addition, the Command felt obligated to release a statement due to rumors of civil unrest in Lamurde, Adamawa State, which surfaced on Monday morning.
Newsmen revealed that the speculation was sparked by a social media post from a writer who claimed to have sounded a public alarm on Monday morning, 16th September 2024 asserting that six individuals had lost their lives in violent confrontations in Lamurde.
Labeling the report as false and misleading, the Adamawa Police Command said the content of the report suggesting that there were Lunguda/Waja clashes resulting in multiple violent killings was particularly reprehensible.
The police declared that, there is no shred of truth and not a single fact to substantiate the allegation, and moreover, there were no violent confrontations between Lunguda and Waja after which he admonished writers who have the best interests of society at heart to exercise discretion in their social media posts.
