JUST IN: Arrest Wike Now – Edwin Clark Writes IGP [See Wike’s Alleged Offence]
Elder statesman and a leader of the Ijaw nation, Chief Edwin Clark, has called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to arrest the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over his threat to set fire to States governed by Governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Recall that Wike, while speaking at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, on Saturday during the party’s state congress, warned the PDP governors to stay clear of the affairs of the PDP in Rivers.
“Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of the PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give it back to somebody.
“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see, you take”, Wike had said.
In a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, Clark said the words of the minister marked a “flagrant disrespect to the person of President Bola Tinubu, who appointed him”, describing his comments as “unbridled”, and added that his comments were a form of treason as it was capable of inciting violence in the country.
He pointed out that the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, and #EndBadGovernance protesters had been arrested for similar offences, adding that the IG must do the same for the FCT minister and get him to retract his statements.
The Taraba State APC stalwart claimed the Ministers of President Tinubu are newspaper tigers.
Modibbo, in an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, alleged that Tinubu’s Advisers are giving him wrong advice that is responsible for the economic hardship that Nigerians are facing.
He appealed to Nigerians to give Tinubu time, stating there would be light at the end of the tunnel.
“I’m a Nigerian and I also feel the pains just like Mr. President also feel the pains and the pulse of Nigerians.
“I don’t want to defend some of these conditions. I’m not here as a government spokesperson. Therefore as a caveat, I’m not going to defend that because to me it will show sensitivity and compassion. That is why I said people around Mr. President are giving him wrong advice.
