Primate Elijah Ayodele, the spiritual leader of the Inri evangelical church, has stated that the opposition must create an alliance to defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
In a recent social media post,Ayodele urged the opposition to organize and field a candidate in the next presidential election. The outspoken priest stated: ” If you want to unseat Tinubu, form a coalition. Only a coalition can defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027″.
He went on to say, “But Tinubu will not take it lightly because Tinubu himself is ready to wage the war. A lot needs to be rethought for the 2027 election to be legitimate”.
Recall that in May, the federal government dismissed the alleged planned collaboration between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi.
According to the presidency, Tinubu is unconcerned with the proposed alliance, stating that the president is not losing sleep over alliance intrigues by Atiku and Obi.
Atiku ran for president in 2023 on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but lost. Obi also ran as a presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) and finished third in the election.
According to the source, Obi and Atiku have held at least one private meeting in 2024, and Atiku has hinted on working with Obi to defeat President Tinubu and the ruling APC come 2027.
