BREAKING: Peter Obi Drops Bombshell After Reno Omokri Attacked Him As Igbo Woman Vows To Kill Yorubas, Edos
Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former Governor of Anambra State, has spoken out against a controversial video circulating online.
The video features a Nigerian woman living in Canada, who reportedly made threats to poison and kill people from the Yoruba and Edo ethnic groups. The woman’ s comments have sparked widespread outrage, particularly because she is believed to be of Igbo descent, which has led to calls for Obi to address the issue.
Prominent figures, including Reno Omokri, have called on Obi to publicly condemn the woman’ s statements. Responding to these calls, Peter Obi issued a strong statement denouncing the hateful remarks. He emphasized the need for unity among Nigerians, regardless of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.
In his statement, Obi said, ” I utterly condemn the reported hateful statement and actions attributed to a Nigerian woman living in Canada against other Nigerians of diverse origins. Such divisive comments or behaviour have no place in our society. ”
Obi stressed that Nigeria should focus on overcoming its collective challenges rather than being divided by tribalism and hatred. He has consistently advocated for the unity of the nation, rejecting any form of polarization along tribal, religious, or political lines.
He further questioned, ” What does a nation achieve through tribal or religious bigotry? Does it contribute positively to development, by fixing our numerous health, education challenges, and pulling people out of poverty? Does it reduce the price of bread, rice, garri or yam in the market? Does it improve our transportation system or enhance the electricity supply? Does it ensure good governance? The answer is a resounding NO! ! ”
Obi urged Nigerians to prioritize national progress over ethnic and religious differences. He emphasized the importance of electing leaders based on integrity, competence, and compassion, qualities he believes are essential for overcoming Nigeria’ s current challenges.
” We, as Nigerians, must live together in peace and love, and ensure that we enthrone leaders based on integrity, competence, consistency, capacity, character and compassion, so as to overcome our present challenges and move the country forward in the right direction, ” Obi added.
He concluded by encouraging Nigerians to focus on building a prosperous, united, and equitable nation, free from the divisions of tribalism and religious conflict. ” Let us focus on what truly matters: building a prosperous, united, and equitable Nigeria for all. We must reject tribalism and religious division, and embrace our shared humanity, working together towards a new Nigeria that is POssible! ” Obi stated.
