A coalition of Southern Kaduna youths has come forward to defend Senator Sunday Katung against what they describe as an ” alleged smear campaign” aimed at tarnishing his reputation. The youths accused the detractors of having selfish motives and urged them to cease their attacks, allowing the senator to continue his work in the senatorial district.
Luke Augustine, the Coordinator of the Southern Kaduna youth coalition, spoke out against the critics, emphasizing that Senator Katung has made significant progress in his first year in office. Augustine highlighted the senator’ s achievements, including his efforts to improve security, healthcare, and education in the region.
” Senator Katung has been working closely with security agencies to enhance safety in our communities. His initiatives in healthcare have been commendable, including his push for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan and a Science University in Manchok, ” Augustine stated.
The youth leader also praised the senator’ s commitment to combating diseases and improving healthcare infrastructure in the region. Augustine emphasized that the attacks on Senator Katung are baseless and driven by individuals with political interests, who have not contributed to the development of their communities.
” We have been keenly following events over the last few months, where certain individuals or groups have launched a campaign of calumny against our respected senator, trying to smear his name and his hard- earned reputation. We will not sit back and allow insignificant, bitter- minded political businessmen, who have done nothing for their communities, to continue their baseless attacks, ” the coalition declared.
The Southern Kaduna youths called for unity and support for Senator Katung, urging all citizens to focus on the positive developments in the senatorial district rather than engaging in destructive political games.
