SURPRISE MERGER! Tinubu In Trouble As Osinbajo, Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso Are Told To Join Forces Ahead Of 2027
In a growing call for unity among Nigeria’ s opposition figures, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside political heavyweights such as Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Yemi Osinbajo, has been urged to join forces in a bid to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections. This call to action was made by Malam Salihu Lukman, the immediate past National Vice Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who emphasized the need for a robust political coalition capable of challenging the status quo.
In a recently published piece titled ” EndBadGovernance Campaign: What Next? ” Lukman expressed concern over the current state of the Nigerian political landscape, asserting that most registered political parties have been rendered ineffective by the government. He argued that the formation of a new political party, distinct from the existing APC, PDP, LP, and NNPP, is essential to address the hunger and suffering experienced by the populace under the current administration.
Lukman highlighted the urgency of uniting discontented political leaders across all parties to create a formidable opposition that could challenge President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 elections. He noted that although initiatives are already underway to foster such unity, the growing discontent and frustration among Nigerians must be channeled into the emergence of a viable and functional political party.
The Kaduna- born politician underscored the importance of the #EndBadGovernance campaign, suggesting that any political party aiming to rescue Nigeria from its current plight must organically integrate this movement into its structure. According to Lukman, the #EndBadGovernance campaign, which gained momentum during the nationwide protests against police brutality in 2020, represents a significant force that could galvanize support for a political party committed to national democratic development.
” The failure to incorporate the #EndBadGovernance campaign into the foundation of a new political movement would likely doom any attempt to challenge and defeat the APC government led by President Tinubu, ” Lukman warned. He called on opposition leaders like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to step forward and provide the leadership necessary to reform Nigeria’ s democracy and ensure the emergence of a functional political party capable of rescuing the nation.
Lukman’ s call extends beyond opposition figures, as he also urged marginalized leaders within the APC to align with the opposition to restore Nigeria’ s democratic values. He specifically mentioned prominent APC members such as Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Malam Nasir El- Rufai, and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, suggesting that their collective effort could be pivotal in forming a unified front against the current administration.
In addition to rallying political leaders, Lukman stressed the importance of mobilizing Nigeria’ s restless youth, whose discontent has been palpable in recent years. He argued that the energy and activism of the youth should be harnessed to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) into registering new political parties that meet all statutory requirements. Lukman hinted at an ” undeclared moratorium” on the registration of new parties, a situation he believes must be addressed to allow for the emergence of fresh political alternatives.
Lukman’ s commentary comes at a time of heightened political tension in Nigeria, with many citizens expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of governance. The call for a new political movement echoes the sentiments of many Nigerians who feel disillusioned by the performance of the APC- led government. The 2027 elections are seen by many as a crucial opportunity to redefine the country’ s political landscape and steer it towards a more inclusive and democratic future.
The potential alliance of opposition leaders, along with disaffected members of the ruling party, could present a formidable challenge to President Tinubu’ s administration. However, the success of such an alliance will depend on its ability to resonate with the electorate and address the pressing issues facing the country. Lukman’ s call for unity and action underscores the growing sense of urgency among Nigeria’ s political elite to effect meaningful change in the nation’ s governance.
