According to Ayodele, the forefathers of Nigeria, including Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikwe, Tafawa Balewa, Anthony Enahoro, and MKO Abiola, are displeased with the country’ s direction under President Bola Tinubu’ s administration.
This statement came in response to remarks made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Wike had alleged that a senator was behind the recent protests in the capital city, claiming that this senator was providing support to the protesters.
Primate Ayodele dismissed Wike’ s claims, emphasizing that the real issue lies with the dissatisfaction of Nigeria’ s historical leaders with the current administration. In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele asserted that individuals like Wike, along with traditional rulers and politicians, are misleading President Tinubu.
Ayodele advised President Tinubu to ignore these deceivers and focus on the actual needs of the Nigerian people. He highlighted that distributing resources through governors and other officials is ineffective due to corruption. Instead, Ayodele urged Tinubu to directly address the economic challenges facing the country.
