WHAAT? Mother & Children All Die On A Spot After Consuming Dinner, See Details That Shocked Nigerians
Five people, precisely a woman and her four children, have passed away in Abubor Nnewichi neighbourhood, which is situated in the Nnewi North Local Government Area LGA of Anambra State, from what is believed to be food poisoning.
The victims, who lived in Nnewi but hailed from the Okwuchukwu family in the Ihiala Local Government Area LGA of the state, passed away on Monday night after eating dinner, as confirmed to news reports.
Quite unfortunately, the victims’ names are Onyinye, the mother; Miracle; Dominion; Amanda and Kosi, the children; and an eyewitness and family source who spoke with a reporter on Wednesday, 31st July 2024 stated that the family of five passed away before being taken to the hospital as soon as they were found.
The source went on to say that their father, who was not present when the tragedy occurred ended up getting hospaitized after receiving a great shocked upon his return home to find his family members dead and was hurried to the nearest hospital.
Throwing more light on the occurrence, the source went on to say that, ” a mother and her four children died after consuming a meal that was their dinner. We do not know what the real food was because they had finished eating it before the incident happened. But from the appearance of the remnants from the plates, it looked like a cassava meal” .
It was also learnt that the meal that killed the victims is currently being probed because some said the deceased family ate from a takeaway they brought in from outside, while others claimed they all consumed cassava meal which was prepared at home.
When approached for comments concerning the aforementioned incident, the event has been verified by Anambra State Police spokesman, the Superintendent of Police, SP Tochukwu Ikenga when he was called by reporters on Wednesday, 31st July 2024, emphasizing that the issue had been notified to the command.
Ikenga claimed saying, ” yes, it is a case of sudden and unnatural death reported to the command. The bodies of the victims have been recovered and preserved in the morgue for autopsy in a follow- up to unravel the circumstances surrounding their deaths. It involves a woman and her four children. Further details shall be communicated, please” .
