State Lawyer Allegedly Murders Mobile Policeman; Suspected of Involvement in Kidnapping
In a disturbing incident in Bauchi State, a man identified as Abdullahi Abubakar, who is reported to be a legal practitioner, has allegedly killed a mobile policeman. The tragic event was confirmed by the spokesman for Operation Safe Haven military taskforce, Captain Oya James, in an official statement released on Tuesday.
The incident took place on November 2, 2023, in Kuba village, Bokkos Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where a mobile police officer lost his life.
Abdullahi Abubakar, also known as “Mr. Abdullahi Abubakar Lawyer,” was subsequently apprehended by troops on Saturday in Rimin Zayam village, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The suspect was arrested for his alleged involvement in the killing of the mobile police officer.
According to Captain James, the arrested suspect made a shocking admission, revealing that he was also connected to various criminal activities, including kidnapping, alongside other members of his gang.
Based on the information provided by Abdullahi Abubakar, the military taskforce conducted a follow-up operation on Sunday. The operation targeted Kambal and Hurti villages in Bokkos Local Government Area. As a result of the raid, two more individuals, identified as Yakubu Saidu and Nasiru Mohammed, were apprehended for their involvement in the crime.
During the raid, law enforcement authorities seized significant evidence, including 233 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a Techno phone, an Itel phone, and a motorcycle that may have been linked to the criminal activities.
In a separate incident, troops carried out a successful rescue operation in October 2023. They successfully rescued Ms. Abigail Felix, who had been kidnapped on October 28 in Angwan Malam village, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Following her rescue, the victim was safely reunited with her family.
These incidents underscore the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in Bauchi State and surrounding regions to combat criminal activities, particularly those related to kidnapping and violence against security personnel.
