Shanel recounted her story to H- Metro, explaining that she recognized Pastor Chamba when she took him to her home after they agreed on a US$30 fee for the night. Despite her initial surprise at encountering her pastor while soliciting at Chigovanyika Shopping Centre, she went ahead with the arrangement.

” I am struggling to make ends meet, so I decided to hook up with men for money, ” Shanel explained. ” It was my first time, as I usually go to church, and to my shock, I met my pastor in a dark corner. He wanted to spend the night with me, and we agreed on US$30. ”
Upon arriving at her home, Pastor Chamba promised to pay her in the morning. Trusting him due to their shared church affiliation, she let him stay. However, in the morning, he could only produce US$4. Shanel alerted him to the presence of other women visiting her home, and he suggested taking them shopping to withdraw cash. When his bank card failed at the store, Shanel revealed the situation to the women, leading to further complications.
Pastor Chamba then took Shanel to his office, where he signed an affidavit promising to pay her by the end of the day and gave her one of his printers as collateral.
As news spread, a small crowd gathered at Pastor Chamba’ s office, alerted by Shanel’ s friends, and people began taking photographs and posting them on social media.
When contacted for comment, Pastor Chamba denied the allegations of having sex with Shanel. He claimed that he had only borrowed money from her and that she created a scene at his office when he couldn’ t repay her on time, which attracted the crowd.
