Female teachers and wives of teachers at Malala Primary School in Limulunga district are experiencing bizarre and terrifying occurrences, allegedly due to black magic schemes. The victims wake up to find tattoos on their bodies and their private parts shaved without their consent. The school’ s Deputy Head Teacher, Mubiana Siiya, reported that the community confirmed the presence of faecal matter, which they believed was a result of black magic.
” The situation is very disturbing, and we are living in fear, ” Ms. Siiya said. ” When the victims wake up, they find tattoos on their bodies and their private parts shaved without their consent. It’ s like they are being targeted, and we don’ t know who is behind it. ”
The attacks have affected the teachers’ ability to deliver education, as they are unable to sleep and are experiencing fatigue. ” Our literacy progression of learners is going down because they attack during the night, so you cannot go back to sleep, you stay awake, and when you go to classes, you are dozing due to tiredness and body fatigue, ” Ms. Siiya explained.
The community has made donations to find the person responsible for the black magic. A meeting was held with the District Commissioner and the District Education Board office to engage the community and stop the perpetrators. However, the attacks continued, and the wife of a newly deployed teacher was recently attacked.
The affected teachers have requested transfers, and the school is seeking help from the Limulunga Pastors Fellowship to minister to the land and teachers. Reverend Daniel Nawa believes that protection can only be secured through the name and authority of Jesus Christ.
” We are ready to be engaged by the office of the District Commissioner and the District Education Board Secretary to go to the school and minister to the land and teachers, ” Rev. Nawa said. ” We believe that the power of prayer and the authority of Jesus Christ can bring an end to these attacks. ”
The District Commissioner, Lutangu Lutangu, condemned the witchcraft attacks, stating that they inflict fear in teachers and are a barrier to education. ” We are very shocked to hear that witchcraft attacks took place at Malala, these are some things we used to hear happening in distant schools. This should come to an end because it is disturbing education delivery and the government’ s agenda to promote access to quality education, ” Mr. Lutangu said.
