AFTER Announcing Creation Of Livestock Ministry, SEE Unexpected Message Fulani Herdsmen Sent To Tinubu
The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), a group representing the Fulani Herdsmen has expressed its gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development.
This move, according to MACBAN, marks a significant step towards enhancing the productive capacity of Nigerian agriculture and ensuring food security in the country.
In a statement released in Abuja on Tuesday, MACBAN President Baba Othman- Ngelzarma highlighted that President Tinubu has kept his promise to support the agricultural sector.
The creation of this ministry was announced during a State House event, where President Tinubu also inaugurated the presidential committee on livestock development.
The association believes that the Ministry of Livestock Development will unlock the potential of Nigeria’ s livestock industry, which is valued at trillions of naira. For years, MACBAN had been advocating for a dedicated ministry to modernize the livestock production system in line with global standards.
” With this development, MACBAN believes the hope of the Nigerian pastoralists is now achieved under the Renew Hope Agenda. The promise made by President Tinubu to raise the productive capacity of Nigerian agriculture to ensure food security is being fulfilled, ” Othman- Ngelzarma said.
Othman- Ngelzarma, on behalf of the Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees of MACBAN, the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ ad Abubakar III, and the entire membership of the Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, congratulated President Tinubu and the Nigerian Armed Forces on this significant development.
MACBAN views the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development as a pivotal moment that will lead to substantial progress in the livestock sector, ultimately benefiting the nation’ s economy and food security.
